Thigh lift
thigh lift surgery cost from £2185
A thigh lift removes excess fat, tightens the skin and re-contours the upper leg usually with concealable scars. Thigh lifts can be combined with other procedures like liposuction or a tummy tuck . Many thigh lifts are performed on the inner thigh, but thigh lifts also can be performed on the outer thigh or included with a buttock lift.
Cosmetic Surgery to Improve the Thighs Rubbing
Sometimes no matter how many miles you walk or how many salads you eat, you just can’t get rid of those pockets of unsightly fat on your lower body. Gravity and aging are other factors that contribute to loss of shape and contour. For others who have lost a significant amount of weight, the skin can sag, ripple and fold in ways that cannot be remedied except with surgery. Thigh lift cosmetic surgery may be a good option for many women and men who find themselves in these situations.
Mr Uppal understands how important it is to have thighs that look attractive and feel comfortable. If fat deposits and loose skin are causing you problems, he can offer you professional guidance and highly-skilled techniques that can restore confidence in the way you feel about your thighs.
Being able to wear shorts or skirts again with confidence, finding freedom of movement from unwanted fat and skin deposits can dramatically improve your quality of life.
Who is a good candidate for a thigh lift?
When there is extra skin on the inside of the thighs it can be removed. The extra skin grows with time or after weight loss. It can be unsightly and affect walking if it is heavy. Or it can create wrinkles along the thigh. These can all be improved with a thigh lift.
Where is the scar from a thigh lift?
The scar is hidden inside the groin along the crease so that a bikini with hide the scar completely. The scar can stretch with time and it can move also as the skin continues to grow over the years. But mostly the scar fades over time as long as you use cream regularly. The scar can be also be covered with camouflage waterproof make-up if needed eg when swimming. Ask us to show you photos of the scars and possibilities for you.
Before Surgery
During your initial consultation, Mr Uppal will evaluate your health and explain which surgical technique of thigh lift he feels will be best for you. Your initial consultation is also the time for you to discuss the results you are looking for. It’s very important that you be totally frank with your surgeon about your expectations and the goals you want to achieve – and equally important that your surgeon be frank with you about your alternatives and the plusses and minuses of each.
After Surgery
You can shower the day after surgery as the dressings are all waterproof. You should expect some discomfort during the first one or two days after your surgery , especially when you move around or cough. However you’ll be up and about within hours. Mr Uppal and the anaesthetic team will prescribe pain relief to lessen your discomfort. You’ll be most comfortable if you wear the garment that we supply which support your thighs and helps reduce swelling. Surgical drains are not used, so there are none to be removed and as your stitches are dissolvable they will not need removal either. Should a small amount of stitch be visible it may be cut short or simply left in place until it dissolves. Although you can go home the same day, some patients go home the day after surgery.
How long is the thigh lift surgery recovery period?
Most healthy patients can walk straight away while wearing the special garment supplied by us. It is not a very painful procedure and the area is numb for 6-8 hours after surgery. Paracetamol is advised before going to bed on the first night. Recovery takes about 1 week and you can return to sports in 4 weeks. You can drive when you feel comfortable and safe – usually after about 1 week.
