What are the key things I need to know about Rhinoplasty?

Is Rhinoplasty Safe?
Yes. Rhinoplasty is an established cosmetic procedure and is perfectly safe. Any complications or issues arising as a result of Rhinoplasty are rare.
Can rhinoplasty cause cancer?
No.
Will Rhinoplasty scars go away?
Yes, most scarring from a Rhinoplasty procedure will likely disappear around 3-6 months after.
How long will it take for Rhinoplasty swelling to go down?
The worst swelling will usually go down within the first two weeks after a procedure, but it can take up to 12 months for full recovery and everything to relax into place.
Are Rhinoplasty stitches dissolvable?
Yes.
When can I wear glasses after a Rhinoplasty procedure?
Usually the next day, but a splint and tape will be present for a week.
When can I go back to work after a Rhinoplasty procedure?
Although this will largely depend on the nature of your job we generally recommend taking two weeks off following the procedure.
Is Rhinoplasty permanent?
Yes, Rhinoplasty permanently changes the appearance of your nose.
Will Rhinoplasty change my voice?
No.
Will rhinoplasty change my smile?
No.
Will Rhinoplasty help with snoring?
It can help, but in most instances, this isn’t the case.
Can Rhinoplasty make your nose smaller?
Yes.

Will Rhinoplasty fix a bulbous nose?
Yes, it can significantly help reduce the size of your nose and the bulbous appearance.
Will Rhinoplasty help fix a wide nose?
Yes, it can significantly help.
Can Rhinoplasty cause a deviated septum?
Yes, on some rare occasions. Most people actually have a slightly deviated septum but it doesn’t show. In most instances, a Rhinoplasty procedure will improve the outer appearance of the nose and hide any deviation.
What is the Rhinoplasty death rate?
Nil. Any serious issue would be related to an adverse reaction to anaesthesia, but this is incredibly rare.
What can Rhinoplasty do?
Improve the appearance of your nose and in some instances enhance your ability to breathe through your nose.
How is Rhinoplasty done?
It is usually a 2-3 hour procedure and there are a number of different ways to do it.
Can you have Rhinoplasty without anesthesia?
No.
Are Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty the same thing?
No. Septoplasty is mainly for breathing and making the nose straight. Rhinoplasty is focused more on the appearance of the nose.
Can Rhinoplasty go wrong?
As with all cosmetic procedures, there is always the possibility that the patient might not be entirely satisfied with the result, but an experienced surgeon will limit these risks. The national revision rate for Rhinoplasty is 10%.
How much does a good Rhinoplasty cost?

Why is Rhinoplasty cheaper in places like Turkey and Thailand?
There is less regulation in these countries and usually very little in the way of aftercare for patients once they’ve had the procedure.
