“What’s that bit in the middle under the nose called?”
This is a common question I get asked and it’s called the ‘column’.
Surgeons call this the columella. The point is that patients do not need to know all the technical terms for the nose when they go and see their surgeon.
You just need to be clear on what your aspirations are and what you want to achieve. You should feel comfortable with your discussion with the surgeon.
Surgeons all strive to make sure the Columella is in the center so that the nostrils look even. In the weeks after surgery, there is always swelling and maybe some unevenness but this will improve over time as the swelling gets better.
We are proud of the whole team who published our work that focuses on the Columella in the American Journal of Plastic Surgery.
“Exceptional surgeon & Team
From start to finish I received an exceptional experience, service, and amazing results. I had a septorhinoplasty which I have needed for many years but put off for several reasons, one being I did not find it easy to find a trusted surgeon but when I found Dr Uppal who was highly recommended to me, I decided to go for it and could not be happier.
They over delivered in every way and go way above and beyond to ensure you receive the best experience and result you are looking for, from the admin team to my surgeon.
I’m extremely happy with my results and the aftercare provided. If you are looking for an exceptional skilled surgeon who is passionate about what he does, then look no further!!! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr Uppal, excellent result and after care. Thank you all so much!”
Thanks to the Committee for inviting Dr Uppal to give his lecture on Rhinoplasty and share his experience on Key Hole nose surgery. This 5 day event brings together an international group of speakers to teach all aspects of Plastic Surgery.
Congratulations to Dr Uppal for being awarded the educator surgeon of the year award at the annual conference for the British Association of plastic surgeons in London. Dr Uppal is a leading plastic surgeon in the UK and was honoured to receive this award which is voted on by his peers. The award is for his contribution to chairing the London rhinoplasty course for the last eight years as well as the family breast cancer symposium. He is also an examiner at the Royal College of surgeons of England where he supervises the junior surgeons as they progress in their career. Well done Dr Uppal – we’re proud of you.
Would you ever buy an expensive appliance without first reading other customer reviews?
Would you book a hotel, beautician, or spa treatment without first researching the establishment’s reputation?
Although the internet has come under fire for the proliferation of fake reviews, if a product or service is not up to standard, you will find people who are prepared to speak out. And that’s why it’s so important to read patient testimonials before investing in rhinoplasty or other cosmetic surgery.
The proof is in the pudding
This lady has recently spoken warmly of her positive experience with Dr Uppal. But don’t just take her word for it.
With more than 1,000 rhinoplasty procedures under his belt, Dr Rajan Uppal is a highly regarded member of the British Society of Rhinoplasty Surgeons. And has gained a reputation for natural-looking surgery results. But he would nevertheless advise you to do your research before booking a consultation.
How to research your rhinoplasty surgeon
Check their qualifications – Are they registered with the British Society of Rhinoplasty Surgeons or other professional body?
Find out what other patients have to say – Read testimonials not only on the practitioner’s website and social media pages, but the comments below them. And do a wider Google search.
Cosmetic surgery can change your life – for the better or the worse. So, take your time. Make sure that you are making the best choices for you. And find a truly reputable surgeon to work with.
